As South Indian Outreach is successful in showing Jesus every day in every way, new groups of believers are beginning to emerge. Those groups of believers along with newly trained pastors are the growing backbone of Christ's kingdom in South India. We are currently touching 100 towns and villages in five states with the Gospel.
Church Planting History
South Indian Outreach oversees nearly thirty churches in the southern and central regions of India. Church planting has been the heritage of Tim's family prior to the founding of SIO. Many of the churches were planted by Tim's grandfather Apostle S.D. Barnabus, Tim's father, and Tim's uncle S.B. Prabhu Charan. For over fifty years, the vision of church planting has been continued.
Church Planting Vision
Since returning to India in 2005, Tim and SIO have planted seven churches, revitalized three churches, and built seven church buildings. The SIO vision is to pioneer 50 additional churches in the next 7 years. These will be churches that meet the spiritual and physical needs of people while helping them be effective in society. Why? There are 75,000 unreached villages and towns in India.
Pastoral Training and Support
The support and training of local pastors is a continuous emphasis of SIO. The ministers come together regularly for prayer and training. Most of the pastors work nearly full-time jobs while pastoring their congregations. Those jobs, combined with your generous support to SIO, allow them to carry on effective ministry. However, most of these pastors are supporting their family on $25 to $100 a month. Your continued support of SIO will allow these pastors to commit themselves to full-time ministry.
