Open Arms Crisis Center Print E-mail
South Indian Outreach has now completed the Open Arms Crisis Center as a place of hope and shelter for abused women, single mothers with children, and persecuted believers.
Why the refuge for abused women?
Women are often trapped in marriages to abusive, addicted husbands.  They become the object of the husband's rage.  Because of their social standing, they are often treated more like objects than human beings.  Even their own families will turn against them.

Why would someone leave their child in the street?
South India is filled people unable to provide enough food for their families.  Additionally, these children are discarded in the dumpsters and streets because they are born out of wedlock, or they are the wrong gender.  Little girls are most often the victims.  Women have a lower place in culture with a lower ability to help provide income for the family.  That means baby girls are “disposable” and an "extra burden" when the desire is to continue the family name. The center will be a temporary place of safety for abandoned children until they can be taken to a long-term location for care.

Our Plan?
The Open Arms Crisis Center is a fully trained and staffed location of safety.  The center provides life-skills training, counseling, and love.  The residents and children are fully cared for in an environment of safety.  The center is like "Open Arms" welcoming them.

You can help.
First of all, please pray.   Pray for the safety of all staff and residents.  Pray for continued favor in securing and maintaining the correct government credentials.  Pray for financial provision.  The center at full capacity will cost $750/month to operate.  Your consideration of monthly support is greatly appreciated.
